Red Bull Flugtag, one of Red Bull’s most iconic events, returned to Istanbul after a four-year hiatus. As Red Bull’s strategic communications partner, we supported the event, which transformed Caddebostan Beach into a celebration of creativity, courage and entertainment. Staged under the theme “Free to Fly”, the event drew hundreds of thousands of spectators for a day of human-powered flight, sporting displays and live music.
Thirty teams, selected from almost 8,000 applications, took to the ramp in flying machines they had designed and built themselves. They competed across three categories: creativity, pre-flight performance and flight distance. The 2026 edition also saw the public take part in the voting for the first time, with 26,000 votes cast. Skyby-Doo was crowned the overall winner.
Away from the main competition, Red Bull athletes Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, Deniz Öncü and Bahattin Sofuoğlu brought the thrill of motorsport to the water with a specially choreographed jet ski show. Issa Kalfon delivered another highlight of the day with a Jet Suit flight above Caddebostan Beach. Hosted by Melis İşiten and Hayrettin, the event also featured live performances by Radikal and Yung Ouzo.
As Communication Partner, we led the communications strategy, media relations, content development and press office activity for the project. Our work helped extend the reach of Red Bull Flugtag, secure strong media visibility and communicate the event’s unique combination of competition, sport, entertainment and music across multiple channels.
More than a flying competition, Red Bull Flugtag offered a compelling brand experience built around imagination, ingenuity and the courage to bring an idea to life.
